Eurythmy Teacher
The Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is seeking a Eurythmy Teacher. This position would include Early Childhood through Grade 8 and possibly some High School work depending on scheduling. We are seeking someone who can excite the students and parents for Eurythmy and educate the School community regarding the importance of Eurythmy within the Waldorf curriculum. Job requirements include certification in Eurythmy training; Waldorf teacher education certification or experience is preferred. We ask that our applicants have an anthroposophical understanding of child development and an ability to create an age-appropriate environment in which children flourish.
The school, set on fifty-four wooded acres, was founded in 1984 and offers Grades N-12. EWS became a full member of AWSNA in 1998. The Triangle Area is growing rapidly, situated midway between mountains and the Atlantic coast. We are currently in need of a First Grade teacher and a teacher for the Middle School. The school, set on fifty-four wooded acres, was founded in 1984 and became a full member of AWSNA in 1998. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who have Waldorf teacher training. Classroom experience is preferred. We seek individuals working out of Anthroposophy, with the ability to apply Waldorf pedagogy. Prairie Moon Waldorf School
Lawrence, Kansas seeks a Waldorf early childhood teacher for Prairie Moon Waldorf School – an AWSNA developing school. Prairie Moon Waldorf School opened in 2005 and supports a strong, vibrant family community of forty-three students. This teacher, along with an assistant, will have a class of children, ages two years, nine months through four years in a newly refurbished classroom called the Daisy Garden. The Daisy Garden class will join our existing Sunflower Garden mixed-age kindergarten as we expand our early childhood program.
About Lawrence, Kansas
Lawrence, Kansas is an ideal home to a Waldorf school. Home to the University of Kansas, Haskell Indian Nations University and being near cosmopolitan Kansas City, Lawrence provides a rich, international and multi-cultural life to its residents and visitors. It has been said that Lawrence is America’s largest city without a shopping mall—a statement that reflects a strong commitment to local businesses and pride in the community’s historic downtown. Several years ago author John Villani identified Lawrence as among the top fifteen best art towns under a population of 100,000, and Lawrence has long been a music center. Kansas University has created new centers for biological research, medicine, engineering and technology. The university’s school of education is renowned, with its program in Special Education consistently being ranked first in the nation. Lawrence, Kansas is a growing Waldorf community. Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education and experience teaching in a Waldorf early childhood classroom. Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree who have a serious interest in Waldorf education and, if untrained, a willingness to begin their Waldorf early-childhood teacher training will be considered. We seek a teacher who works well with others, as well as independently, and who possesses a pioneering spirit and enthusiasm for bringing Waldorf education to the heart of America. Requesting the following qualities:
Advanced violin skills
Broad knowledge of diverse strings teaching methods and repertory for youth strings orchestras
Conducting skills
Experience teaching violin to children in a school classroom
Capable of working collaboratively with teachers and administration as part of a music faculty
The violin teacher will:
Teach grades 3 thru 8 (twice a week per grade)
Create and conduct middle school strings ensembles (5/6 + 7/8 grades)
