Madrona School, a Waldorf School, is located on beautiful Bainbridge
Island, a community which is a great blend of natural beauty and city
amenities.
The coming school year marks the Madrona School’s 10 year anniversary
serving Early Childhood Education through 8th Grade. We are a
developing school with an enrollment of more than 130 students. We
are an AWSNA Affiliated Developing School with a commitment to become
a Member School.
Madrona School is hiring for a newly created position of
Administrative Director (AD). This role will provide leadership for
all aspects of the business of the organization. The AD will work
closely with the Dean of Faculty (DoF) to provide support and
administration to the pedagogical content provided by the faculty.
The AD together with the DoF and the President of the Board, form the
Executive Council.
This role combines strategic planning, focus and implementation with
hands on running of day-to-day operations. At a high level, we are
looking for someone to hold the business processes of the school,
including oversight of all administrative personnel, ensuring legal
and governmental compliance, fiscal accountability and execution of
policies and procedures as set forth by the Board of Directors.
Additionally, the person in this role will establish relationships
with community partners and be the face of the school to the wider
community, responsible for communicating the mission of Madrona
School. The AD and the DoF will provide a link between the school
and the wider community, parents, and prospective parents. He or she
will be able to easily and compellingly speak to the value of Waldorf
Education.
The successful candidate for this position is enthusiastic about
collaborative leadership. He or she has strong relationship
management skills, the ability to find common ground and act as a
uniting force. This role requires clear, compelling communication
skills both written and orally. The ideal candidate will have an
understanding of Waldorf school philosophy and curriculum, including
administrative and educational principles, techniques, and methods.
The successful candidate will embrace an active parent population and
a strong committed faculty. This is a candidate who can demonstrate
excellent organizational talents, strong management skills, and the
ability to prioritize multiple tasks while staying within expected
deadlines. The candidate is skilled at handling sensitive and
confidential information and situations. Competence with standard MS
Office products, experience with Mac’s, PC’s, File Maker Pro and
QuickBooks is a plus.

Linden Corner School Seeks an Administrative Director.
Linden Corner School, a Developing Waldorf School located in Nashville, Tennessee, seeks an Administrative Director to lead the administrative team. The School, located in the Green Hills section of Nashville, serves approximately 140 children in grades one through eight and in its early childhood program.
The Administrative Director is responsible for directing and managing all non-teaching functions of the School. Hired by, and reporting to, the Board of Trustees, the Administrative Director implements on a day-to-day basis the Board’s responsibility for the operation of the School. All administrative personnel of the School report to the Administrative Director. The Administrative Director and the other members of the administrative team are responsible for the management of the school’s finances; ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements applicable to the School; development and implementation of administrative policies; management of all human resource issues; the development activities of the School; the enrollment process and maintenance of student records; the care and maintenance of the physical plant and facilities; and serving as a liaison with Trinity Presbyterian Church, in whose premises the School operates. The Administrative Director and administrative staff also provide administrative support for the faculty. In addition, the Administrative Director serves to facilitate communication between the key groups of the School community, including the teaching faculty, the Board of Trustees, the parents, the Parent Alliance, and the administration.
The Administrative Director must be willing to work within, represent, and support the principles of Waldorf education, including the principle that the School’s faculty takes the leadership role with respect to all issues directly impacting the pedagogy and the manner in which it is brought to the students in the School’s classrooms. Because the School is in its developing stages, the administrative and governance structures of the school are still evolving. The Administrative Director must possess the flexibility of thought and imagination necessary to work in such an evolving organization and to help ensure that evolution progresses in a manner that reflects both the values and traditions of the Waldorf education movement and the opportunities and challenges presented by developing a Waldorf school in Nashville, Tennessee in the early twenty-first century.
The Administrative Director must have a Bachelor’s degree; have completed or be committed to completing a Waldorf administration training program; have at least four years of relevant experience, preferably in an educational setting; and have an ability to work with the various members of the School community by serving as both a leader and a team player. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Waldorf School. It is essential that the Administrative Director exhibit superior planning and organization, prioritization, oral and written communication, and financial management skills.
Salary is negotiable, depending upon qualifications and experience.

Charlottesville Waldorf School

The administrator joins the board and the college of teachers in providing strategic and day-to-day leadership for the school. Waldorf School of Mendocino County
We are looking for an Administrator who will provide leadership in the management and coordination of the resources of the school in order to provide an unencumbered environment for the education of children and the fulfillment of the school’s mission statement. The Administrator will work with the entire school community to execute the steps necessary to enable the school to move forward and implement our strategic plan. A good candidate will be able to provide leadership, facilitate communication and action plans between the Board, Faculty and committees of the school. Other responsibilities include: supervising the office staff, facility maintenance and delegating responsibility appropriately. Skills essential for this job include being well organized, able to balance a large number of tasks and shifting priorities when needed so tasks are completed on time. These tasks could include festivals, budget work, and reports. An Administrator needs clear communication skills in working with the public and within the school community. The Administrator is the point person in dealing with crisis and emergency situations and legal council.
We are looking for a person with initiative who understands Waldorf pedagogy and the philosophy behind it and will work well in our close-knit communtity. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn the governance structure of our school and have the ability to communicate effectively with the Parent Body, College of Teachers, Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, Administrative staff, and Faculty. The Administrator will work out of the school vision, delegating work to the responsible parties, while maintaining responsibility for the oversight and completion of tasks and timelines.
