Emerson Waldorf School
Searching for Administrator
The Emerson Waldorf School (N-12), set on 54 wooded acres and founded in 1984, is currently seeking a school Administrator. We are located in the North Carolina triangle area (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill), situated midway between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic coast.
The Administrator will provide oversight and leadership, together with the College of Teachers and Board, to the school as a whole. The Administrator will be responsible for the supervision and management of the finances of the school, human resources, development, enrollment, marketing and public relations, school records, physical plant and facilities management, administrative tasks and legal and regulatory compliance. This position is supervised jointly by the Board Executive Committee and the College Executive Committee.
Tasks Include:
o Coordination of administration tasks from Early Childhood through High School.
o Supervision of the administrative staff.
o Coordinating with Board and College on financial, legal and/or pedagogical issues.
o Facilitation of communication and interaction of administrative staff with parents, students and members of the Board, College and Faculty;
o Ensuring that the school is represented in the community and in other agencies and/or government groups.
o Ensuring compliance with national, state and county regulatory requirements.
o Acting as ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board and College.
o Overseeing the financial aspects of the school i.e. leading the Budget process for the school, in collaboration with Finance Committee, Board, Faculty and College oversight of financial policies and practices.
o Overseeing the Tuition Adjustment process.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Business, Human Resources, or related field.
o Minimum of 3 years professional experience, including supervisory role.
o Proven abilities to provide administrative leadership to a non-profit organization.
o Knowledge of regulations governing non-profits.
o Proficiency in MS Office with special emphasis on Excel spreadsheets for budget analysis.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills, including abilities in, consensus building, problem solving, and mediation.
o Proven skills in budget development and implementation.
o Committed to the study of Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy.
Salary: The proposed salary range is up to $55,000. Tuition Remission for children of school age is also available.
