First Grade Position - Los Angeles

Valley Waldorf City School
The Valley Waldorf City School of Los Angeles is taking applications for a first grade class teacher for the 2008/2009 school year. The Valley Waldorf City School (VWCS) was founded in 2000 out of a wish to create a local meeting ground for child and teacher, which would allow a true diversity, both economic and ethnic, to be present in the make up of the school community and of the classroom. The founding teachers and parents wished also to implement the social three-folding implicit in Waldorf education, as hoped for by Rudolf Steiner. To this end, VWCS has grown from its small beginnings with eleven students to more than fifty in pre-school through eighth grade. We are a pioneering school, with a strong community of parents and teachers who strive together to provide a wholesome environment for children to live and learn in. We are located in the heart of the mainly suburban San Fernando Valley, which is adjacent to mountains, beaches and many wonderful museums. Also nearby are the Rudolf Steiner Library, the LA branch of the Anthroposophical Society and the Waldorf Institute of Southern California (WISC). Applicants should either have or be in the process of working towards their Waldorf certification. Please e-mail resumes, a short bio and three references to htbaxter@flash.net
