Pasadena Waldorf School
Pasadena Waldorf School
Seeks a
First Grade Teacher
Come experience the Pasadena Waldorf School difference.
A private, non-profit school for children in early childhood through grade eight, Pasadena Waldorf is a welcoming retreat from suburban congestion nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. We own our own beautiful oak- and deodar-studded five-acre site, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Founded in 1979, Pasadena Waldorf is a well-established, stable school with curriculum and programs based on Rudolf Steiner’s picture of child development and educational principles, as well as the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) Shared Principles. Our active, mutually supportive faculty enjoys a generous employee benefit program including funds for sabbatical and professional development. We recently completed a long-range plan, and are engaged in self-study leading to AWSNA accreditation. The Los Angeles Branch of the Anthroposophical Society is located nearby.
Many of the children coming to first grade have had two years in one of our two kindergartens, and some of the children also participated in our Parent-Toddler program. The opening of our preschool this past fall completes our early childhood program, and an initiative group is working toward starting a high school.
We seek a full-time, Waldorf-trained, college-educated First Grade teacher. The ideal candidate is friendly, open, and well-spoken, is fully trained in Waldorf education, holds a bachelor’s degree, and would enjoy working collegially in a Waldorf school. If you are interested, please fax, mail, or e-mail your letter of interest, resume, three references, and a brief biography as soon as possible.

Wellspring School
Wellspring School is seeking a first grade teacher for the fall of 2008. This class may become a combined 1st/2nd grade in the future. We seek an individual who is interested in the rural Vermont way of life and the atmosphere of a small Waldorf School.
About Us: Located in beautiful rural Chelsea, Vermont, Wellspring was founded in 1988 as a Waldorf preschool and home schooling support program. In 1991 the first elementary grades were added. We currently have a full Nursery/Kindergarten program, a Morning Garden parent/toddler group and offer elementary grades 1-8. Wellspring offers a unique pledge tuition system so that this rich Waldorf curriculum can be available to all committed families, regardless of their financial situation. Wellspring School is an intimate community offering small class sizes (mostly combined grades), while still offering a wide range of special subjects including movement education, strings, Spanish, handwork, woodworking, Eurythmy blocks and outdoor educational experiences. Wellspring is a Developing Waldorf School and a member of AWSNA. We offer a four-day week for all students and teachers until 4th grade. Friday school for the younger classes is considered a home school day. This means preparing for Farmers market for some families, visiting museums for others. This has been part of the culture of Wellspring for quite some time and works well. Another unique characteristic of Wellspring is that we have fully embraced the Social Inclusion Approach, as developed by Kim Payne. It is a system that works with the dynamic of bullying and teasing and offers tools for dealing with these issues.
Applications: Please send a cover letter and short biography, resume and three references
