THE POTOMAC CRESCENT WALDORF SCHOOL
THE POTOMAC CRESCENT WALDORF SCHOOL has openings for two class teachers for the 2008-2009 school year. The first position is for a teacher who will start with the rising first grade. The second position is to share second grade teaching duties, primarily main lesson. That teacher will lead the second grade into the third grade in a full-time capacity next year. At present, our first and second grades are combined. The third grade will continue with its original class teacher next year.
The salary range for the first grade position is:
* 3 year program
* Skilled lead teacher as mentor
* Salary range $42,000 - $46,000
The salary range for the second grade, part time teacher is:
* 2 year program (first year shared teaching, the second year full time).
* Skilled lead teacher as mentor
* Salary $20,000 first year
$42,000 - $46,000 for the second year when the class is taken in full.
We are looking for energetic, Waldorf-trained teachers willing to help
our young, vibrant Waldorf school grow in Northern Virginia. Teaching
experience is not necessary but enthusiasm is. Our faculty has
considerable Waldorf experience, and our school has access to extra
support from the greater Waldorf community in the Baltimore-Washington
Metropolitan area. Since our school is ten minutes from the heart of
Washington, there are many opportunities for attending concerts and
plays, visiting the Smithsonian museums, and enjoying numerous parks.
The surrounding neighborhood is ethnically diverse with large Asian and

Greenwood School
Send us your resume today! Vibrant. Inquisitive. Inspired. These words both describe Greenwood School and the Second Grade Teacher we seek. Ours is an independent K-8 Waldorf-inspired school located in Mill Valley (just north of the Golden Gate Bridge) in California. Come join our incredible team! The school currently has 12 full-time and 16 part-time teachers and 155 students. In our 16th year, Greenwood offers our students the many strengths associated with a Waldorf-style curriculum while also integrating contemporary programs to stay current with the changing world.
We seek an experienced, Waldorf-trained teacher ready to be a long-term faculty member, who sees education as a creative pursuit and truly loves to be with children. The ideal applicant will be a team-player, with excellent classroom management and communication skills. A broad general education in the Arts and Sciences (e.g. a BA/BS degree or higher academic qualification) will be advantageous, as it is our intention for the second grade teacher to teach the class through eighth grade. Your class size will be a maximum of 24 students.
Salary is in the range $50,000-$70,000, based on teaching experience, with excellent benefits including full medical and dental benefits as well as a 401(K) retirement plan. At Greenwood School, you will participate in the creative and organizational duties of the school as well as be active in continuing professional development. There is a very experienced Waldorf faculty with strong mentoring for less-experienced staff.
Our programs include: Spanish, Eurythmy, Strings, Woodwork, Handwork, Games, Earthwork, Choral singing and second languages which are class-specific, ranging from Japanese to Welsh and Afrikaans. In addition each student spends one day per week outdoors in nature, involved in our Nature/Environmental Studies (NEST) program which fosters reverence, wonder and stewardship of the natural world, while incorporating an age-appropriate science program. The Davis Waldorf School, in Davis, California, is searching for the right person to join our faculty as a fourth grade teacher. Sanderling School

The Hartsbrook School
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT – SEVENTH GRADE CLASS TEACHER
The Hartsbrook School is seeking applicants for Seventh Grade Class Teacher for 2008/2009. We are seeking candidates with Waldorf teacher training, a Bachelor’s degree, and teaching experience for this full-time position.
The Hartsbrook School was founded in 1981 with five pre-school students in a little farmhouse. We now have two campuses and 258 students, pre-school through grade 12. The Ben Smith, a two hundred year old tavern with great charm, houses the first and second grades, along with a parent-toddler program, and two nurseries.
The Piening Hall campus has twenty open rolling acres of land with a view of the Holyoke Mountains. The two kindergartens are in the Homestead, alongside barns for goats, sheep and chickens, a garden classroom and a small garden. The third through sixth grades, along with the main office, are in our new Elementary School, which will eventually house grades one through eight. The high school is housed in Piening Hall. Our faculty numbers around 50, with 7 staff members and an active and supportive Board of Directors. In September of 2002 we started a high school with a ninth grade class, and we currently have 45 students in grades 9--12.
Our school has been a full member of AWSNA since 1988. We have an active Branch of the Anthroposophical Society with several study groups, and the First Class of the School of Spiritual Science meets regularly. There is a biodynamic farm in the area.
We are situated in the middle of the five-college area of the pastoral Pioneer Valley, which offers many world-class cultural events, restaurants, movies, galleries and boutiques, dancing, music and theatre. The rural town of Hadley is located between Amherst and Northampton (recently named the small town arts capitol of the United States).
