The Sandpoint Waldorf School is accepting applications for Fifth Grade Teacher for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year. The ideal candidate should be Waldorf trained and experienced in working with children. Upper Valley Waldorf School
The Upper Valley Waldorf School, located in Quechee, VT, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, Waldorf-trained class teacher to become a member of our Middle School Team and to take next year’s Seventh Grade Class. This is a small, but extraordinary group of boys and girls, most of whom have been together since first grade. Their parents are very involved and supportive. We have been revitalizing our Middle School Program and look forward to next year with excitement as we work to meet more closely the academic, social and emotional needs of the developing twelve to fourteen year-old. Middle School class teachers will teach a block or two in other Middle School grades and there will be some team teaching across grade levels so that the students experience several different teaching styles. We are seeking an experienced teacher, willing to work on developing our program with us and to support the learning and social development of all Middle School students, to meet these seventh grade students and help them complete their wonderful eight-year journey. Although we would welcome a longer-term commitment from qualified applicants, our first priority is to ensure that this class is well met with a full and vibrant Waldorf seventh and eighth grade curriculum. There may be the option for a somewhat less than full-time position. We are a Nursery through Eighth Grade school with a current enrollment of 160 for the 2007-2008 school year. We have many strong programs in place, which include two languages (French and German), woodworking, handwork, movement, instrumental and orchestral music and chorus. Our upper grades are supported by upper grades art, a block teaching program staffed by visiting guest teachers and seasonal athletics in addition to the full subjects. All of our full-time faculty members are Waldorf-trained teachers and represent a rich spectrum of life experiences along with their strength as Waldorf educators. Our school is a member of AWSNA. The Hill School of New Orleans, is beginning its’ Annual Teacher Search early this year. We are looking for the following positions for the 08-09 school year: • A Grades teacher for a new first/second class – This is a new start up class comprised of 2007/2008 graduates of our Kindergarten as well new students to our school. • A Grades teacher for the fourth/fifth class – This is a mixed grade class consisting of 7 students most of whom have been at the Hill School since Kindergarten . As most of you are aware, hurricane Katrina had a tremendous impact on this region and our school. The Hill School relocated, after flooding at our previous location, and re-opened our door only nine weeks following the storm. We currently lease space in a renovated historic warehouse building located in the Irish Channel neighborhood. The Board of Directors and the faculty have been working hard to rebuild enrollment, community, and a strong foundation on which the school can grow and prosper. We are proud to be the only Waldorf school in the Gulf South region and the state of Louisiana. We are seeking the above additional faculty members who are looking to be part of a pioneering school.
