Ottawa Waldorf School
The Ottawa Waldorf School in Stittsville is accepting applications for two grade school teacher positions for September 2008. We are looking for teachers with post-secondary education, Waldorf training and experience. Compensation includes a full time salary plus Long Term Disability, Extended Health and Dental, and an RRSP.
The Ottawa Waldorf School has been offering Waldorf early childhood and elementary school education in Canada’s capital city since 1979. The school is located on a wooded property in the west end of Ottawa. There is a biodynamic farm about 20 minutes away and, during the snow free months, an Organic market has been held weekly outdoors at the school.

City of Lakes Waldorf School
OUR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
City of Lakes Waldorf School is an accredited, full member school of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. We offer a pre-school to Grade 8 education for 235 students, including Spanish, German, movement and games, handwork, woodwork, circus and music (recorder, strings and chorus) and after school sports programs. Our parent/child program introduces young families to Waldorf education.
Our experienced and creative faculty, led by the College of Teachers, is dedicated to excellence in Waldorf education and the development of curriculum to reflect our diverse, urban community. Our school celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2008 and is currently refining and implementing a long range strategic plan for the future. Our board of directors and talented and dedicated parent community support our 45 full and part time members of the faculty and administrative staff.
Our school is located in a beautiful stone building (circa 1925) in a lively urban neighborhood just blocks from downtown Minneapolis. The school resides on what is known as “Eat Street” – home to a large number of restaurants featuring cuisines from around the world. We are within walking distance to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and have convenient access to the cultural features of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, including nationally acclaimed symphony and chamber orchestras, theatres, art, science and children’s museums. Minneapolis is a beautiful city encompassing lakes, rivers and creeks and containing an extensive selection of parks for walking, biking and opportunities for a myriad of outdoor activities in all seasons. Our school enjoys an association with two Waldorf schools in the Twin Cities area, a chapter of the Anthroposophical Society, and the Novalis Institute which provides adult education and Foundation Studies to our community.
QUALIFICATIONS AND BENEFITS
Ideal candidates are Waldorf trained teachers with a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of teaching experience and a commitment to working out of anthroposophy. Specialists will have training and teaching experience in their field. We are seeking individuals who are committed to excellence in teaching, parent education and dialogue, self-development, and collegial cooperation. Full time teachers enjoy a competitive salary and generous benefits that include health, dental, tuition remission, mentoring and financial support for professional development. We offer a base salary $33,500 with increments for teaching experience and education.

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferably the successful candidate will be Waldorf-trained and have some years experience in a Waldorf school, particularly in teaching a multiple grade classroom. Consideration will be given to non-Waldorf teachers expressing keen interest in this approach to education and a willingness to avail themselves of ongoing training in Waldorf pedagogy. Musical, artistic and language abilities are an asset. Candidates should have a team spirit enabling them to work closely with teachers and parents in the running of the school, a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, and a willingness to enter wholeheartedly into the life of an alternative school community. The successful applicant will complete a police record check and child abuse registry search.

Ashwood Waldorf School in Rockport, ME is seeking applications for grade school class teachers and a full-time French teacher for the 2008-2009 school year. Housatonic Valley Waldorf School
Part-Time Grades Assistant needed for September 2008.
This is a three-quarter time position, either Monday-Friday 8 am-2pm or another configuration adding up to 30 hours a week. The assistant will not be required to work 6 hours straight, but will get a break every day. The salary is $25,700.
The assistant will either have completed Waldorf teacher training for Grades 1-8, or will be in such training, or be a trained teacher for Grades 1-8. Personal qualities desired are good interpersonal skills, flexibility, energy, enthusiasm, ability to take initiative and set boundaries. Duties include main lesson support in Grade 1 as needed; specialty class support as needed in grades 3/4 and 5/6, including tutoring or small group instruction; playground support; recess and lunch duty in grades 3/4 and 5/6; main lesson substituting in any grade, as needed.
The assistant will attend grades faculty meetings and will not meet with parents without a class teacher present. The assistant will participate fully in our school's Faculty Development Program.
Housatonic Valley Waldorf School is an hour and a half from New York City. We have 3 parent-tot groups, 3 early childhood classes and grades 1-8 with a total of 135 students. We are 19 years old. A Foundation Studies program in Waldorf Education is starting at our school in September.

Sanderling School
