GRADES TEACHER The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs is seeking applicants for a full-time CLASS TEACHER (2008-2009 school year). Our ideal candidate has Waldorf teaching experience, has completed or is near completing a Waldorf Teacher Training course and holds a Bachelor’s degree. We are eager to meet candidates who possess strong communication skills, flexibility, commitment, creativity, and knowledge of child development in light of Anthroposophy. The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs was founded in 1981 and currently serves 240 children from nursery through 12th grade. Our eclectic urban campus is spread over three historic buildings, all within walking distance of each other in the lovely town of Saratoga Springs, NY (pop. 30,000). Our Early Childhood building houses a parent-tot program, 2 year old class, pre-school and 3 Kindergartens. The Lower School serves grades 1 through 8, and offers a richness of experience in both class teachers and the special subjects (eurythmy, handwork, French, German, music and spatial dynamics). The High School faculty offers students expertise in all of the subject areas, a foreign exchange program, junior internships and a culminating senior project. Saratoga Springs is a charming Victorian resort town nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks. We are 3-4 hours from Boston, New York city and Montreal. Our location offers four delightful seasons, proximity to both wilderness and major cities, and at the same time a comfortable small-town feeling. Waldorf School of Pittsburgh
The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh
is seeking Grades Teachers for the 2008-2009 school year. The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh opened its doors fourteen years ago with its first Kindergarten. Today, we offer a three-day or five-day Nursery, two Kindergartens, and Grades One through Five. We have recently opened a full day childcare program and continue to offer a parent/child class and an extended day program. Our curriculum is supported by a variety of subjects, including Spanish, Handwork, Music, Eurythmy, Games, and Strings. We are a member of AWSNA with a Developing School status. The base salary for full-time trained Waldorf teachers is $28,000 with increments for years of teaching experience. The Madison School
The Madison School is a newly formed school with a Waldorf curiculum. We are in the process of becoming a member of AWSNA. This year we have a combined grade one and two with plans to add a new grade every year through grade eight. We also have 2 kindergartens with a possibility of adding a third next year. The Harvest-A Developing Waldorf School
The Harvest-A Developing Waldorf School, founded by parents and teachers in 2001, is seeking grades teachers for the 2008-2009 school year. Located in The Woodlands, Texas, 30 miles north of Houston, The Harvest is primed for growth as we prepare for our 7th year bringing Waldorf education to the greater Houston area. We seek full-time, Waldorf certified, degreed, experienced teachers to join our community. Desert Marigold School
Desert Marigold School is currently seeking a fifth grade teacher for the 2008-2009 school year. We are a charter school inspired by Waldorf education, located in Phoenix, AZ. We are situated on 10 acres at the base of South Mountain, the largest inner city state park in the country. Arizona offers a diversified ecology of mountains, canyons, lakes, rivers and desert all within 100 miles of Phoenix.
We are celebrating our fourteenth year, now offering parent toddler playgroups, preschool programs, kindergarten-grade 8, after school care and a summer camp to over 200 students. We are currently working to expand our programing and facilities to add a high school. Our teachers are Waldorf trained or in training. Our parent community is very active with a strong Parent Council, coordinating adult education, fundraising and festival activities. Our curriculum offers a healthy balance of academic and artistic work, including handwork, woodworking, movement, instrumental music, choir, Spanish, biodynamic gardening, and eurythmy.

South Shore Waldorf School Association
Preferably the successful candidate will be Waldorf-trained and have some years experience in a Waldorf school, particularly in teaching a multiple grade classroom. Consideration will be given to non-Waldorf teachers expressing keen interest in this approach to education and a willingness to avail themselves of ongoing training in Waldorf pedagogy. Musical, artistic and language abilities are an asset. Candidates should have a team spirit enabling them to work closely with teachers and parents in the running of the school, a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, and a willingness to enter wholeheartedly into the life of an alternative school community. Portland Village School
Now Hiring Grades Teachers
The Portland Village School, a new charter school inspired by Waldorf education and located in the beautiful Pacific-Northwest seeks nurturing, creative, pioneering teachers for the 08/09 school year. The school opened in September 2007 with grades K-4 and will add a class a year until we are a K-8 school. Class size is approximately 20-23 students. Teachers will stay with their students for two or three grades. In addition to teaching and holding parent-teacher conferences, the teachers will meet regularly as a faculty to address pedagogical and curriculum issues, and will assist with parent informational meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.
* Nurturing, artistic, energetic, flexible, responsible.
* Waldorf teaching certificate or familiarity with Waldorf methods and willingness to undertake Waldorf teacher training.
* State certification to teach in Oregon strongly preferred.
* Strong interest in art, music, and story-telling.
* One to three years teaching experience preferred.
* Eager to create an environmentally friendly, commercial -free atmosphere.
* Committed to building a diverse community.
* Good classroom management and leadership skills.
* Must pass a criminal history check.
COMPENSATION:
* $28 - 36 K, plus benefits, depending on experience and certification
