High School Administrator 2008-09

Shining Mountain Waldorf School
High School Administrator 2008-09 Shining Mountain Waldorf School is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Administrator in the High School for the 2008-09 academic year. This position may be half-time to full-time depending upon areas of experience and expertise. Our basic Administrative position is half-time. In addition, we are looking for someone to take on college counseling, which is another quarter-time. An additional quarter-time teaching or as Pedagogical Dean for the High School could round out a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have extensive Waldorf high school experience in teaching and administration, a BA or higher, and will have completed Waldorf teacher training. Shining Mountain Waldorf School is a fully accredited member school of the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). Founded in 1983, Shining Mountain has grown steadily and now has an enrollment of 325 students in K-12th grade with a full and part-time faculty and staff of 62. The educational program is directed by a College of Teachers, which was founded in 1990. We have two kindergartens, a full elementary school with classes of 28 students, and our High School, which was founded in 1991, now has 90 students. Shining Mountain’s beautiful nine-acre campus is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in sunny Boulder, home of the University of Colorado. Numerous ski resorts and hiking trails are nearby, and the cultural attractions of Denver are only 40 minutes away. Our Festival Hall for Arts and Athletics provides Shining Mountain with regulation basketball and volleyball courts, as well as space for drama, choral, and instrumental performances, seasonal festivals, sporting activities, and school assemblies. The Denver area Anthroposophical Society brings spiritual depth to our community through festival celebrations, workshops and conferences, and visiting lecturers. Biodynamic farming initiatives are active on our campus and in the Boulder Valley area. We are looking for individuals to join us who have training in Waldorf education, strong teaching abilities, collegial cooperation and teamwork, strong communication skills, and a commitment to professional development. Salary & Benefits: Our 2007-2008 base salary is $37,492; this will likely increase by a COLA adjustment for 2008-09. We offer years of experience pay of $850 per year for up to fifteen years of full-time Waldorf teaching experience at a qualified Waldorf School, and up to five years for full-time service in comparable positions at non-Waldorf schools. Medical, dental, and disability insurance, and a 401k retirement plan are included for teachers. Full tuition benefits are included for faculty children. A fund is available to help offset moving expenses. High School Computer Science Teacher

Fulltime High School Computer Science Teacher for Fall 2008 Applicants for this high school position need to have a minimum of three years teaching experience at the high school level. Waldorf training is preferred. High School Movement Teacher

HIGH SCHOOL MOVEMENT POSITION Summerfield Waldorf School is seeking someone who is trained in spatial dynamics to create a movement and physical education program for students in grades 7-12.
