The Sarasota Waldorf School

Haleakala Waldorf School
The Haleakala Waldorf School in
Maui, Hawaii is searching for a Kindergarten Lead Teacher for our 2008-09 school year.
Our school is 35 years old and a full member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), and National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Haleakala Waldorf School is the first Waldorf school in the nation to receive a triple accreditation from WASC, HAIS, and AWSNA. HWS is situated on a mature, charming, and historic campus on the slopes of Haleakala crater, serving 250 children from preschool through eighth grade. The school is located in a rural, pastoral environment; the arts are vitally alive on the island, as are many varieties of outdoor activities. Hawaiiana is a strong and unique cultural aspect to our Waldorf curriculum. Classes at HWS are generally no larger then 24 students. Department meetings are bi-weekly rotating with committee meetings during the same time. Faculty meetings are also on a bi-weekly schedule, convening on Thursday afternoon. Teachers are expected to serve on two committees during the school year.
We are looking for a mature, trained, and experienced colleague to hold an important class teacher position within our Waldorf school program. This teacher will help to provide the foundation for parents and children at HWS. Qualified teachers must have a bachelor’s degree along with having completed Waldorf teacher training. The base pay for the position being offered is $41,600 with a cap at $61,600 based on $1,000 for each year’s experience in a Waldorf school as well as compensation for completion of advanced degrees. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition remission if applicable, an annuity plan, paid holidays, a sabbatical program and annual teacher professional development.

The Waldorf School of San Diego is seeking a Waldorf-trained Kindergarten Lead Teacher to join our Early Childhood Faculty. Qualified candidates will have 12 or more Early Childhood Units, as required by the State of California. Our ECE program includes parent-child classes and a preschool program as well as our kindergartens. We also serve children in grades 1-8 with a high school opening with 9th grade in the Fall of 2008.
Our school community is diverse and multi-cultural. Over the past 25 years we have evolved from a rented space, to the purchase of our present location seven years ago. A master plan is underway that includes both a new Early Childhood Center and a High School, designed using anthroposophical indications. We are also pleased to have solid and energetic administration.
