The Lakeside Head Teacher is responsible for 10 children in a play-based, mixed age, half-day, nursery/kindergarten program. The ideal candidate will work out of Waldorf Education, is a loving and strong leader, and is capable of open communication with a warm, tightly-knit community. The teacher works closely with and oversees one assistant. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a soaring, inspired, and adventurous spirit to be part of a growing school in a supportive, Adirondack community. Lakeside was started by dedicated parents in our Adirondack community in 2006. We also offer a home-based, parent/tot program. Our ideal new staff member is someone who: -Really loves being with kids -Is respectful, kind, communicative, fun, -Has some fun interests and skills to share with us -Is enthusiastic about participating as a team-member: sharing cooking, cleaning and curriculum (projects, circles, etc) -Has at least one year of experience working in a preschool classroom (and preferably is ECE or ed trained) -Can commit to a minimum of 1 year (and hopefully much, much longer!) Mixed-Age Kindergarten Teacher

Waldorf-trained Early Childhood teacher needed for mixed-age class of 16 children beginning September 2008. Experience preferred. Our WECAN-accredited Early Childhood Center has two mixed-age classes, a nursery, and three parent-tot groups. Our school also offers grades 1-8. This is a full-time position with 90% tuition remission and other benefits. Salary is expected to be about $38,500 (pending budget approval). Housatonic Valley is an hour and a half from New York City. The school is 19 years old and is Connecticut's only Waldorf school. We are currently pursuing full AWSNA membership.
