The Ithaca Children's School
Ithaca’s Waldorf School, the Ithaca Children’s School, is seeking an after-school specialist. We welcome all teachers with experience in after school programming. Applicants with a college degree and Waldorf teaching experience and/or training preferred. Salary ranges from $11-$12 per hour. This is part-time position, 15-18 hours per week.
With a combined experience of over 50 years of Waldorf teaching, our current faculty of 5 (3 kindergarten and 2 grades teachers) is fully committed to the ideals of Anthroposophy. We have a supportive and talented parent body eager to develop our small but growing school. The school owns over 50 acres of land, which we hope to build on in the future. The land is currently home to a kindergarten and a small biodynamic farm.
Our school is located in the beautiful small city of Ithaca, New York, located in the Finger Lakes region of New York at the southern most end of Cayuga Lake. Surrounded by natural beauty, it is characterized by forested hills, deep gorges, and spectacular waterfalls. Home to Cornell University and Ithaca College, Ithaca has traditionally attracted musicians, artisans, and academics providing for a rich and varied cultural life, ideal for raising a family.
Interested persons are invited to apply with a letter of interest, a resume, a brief biography, and 3 references from current or former employers, or Waldorf teacher-training personnel (if applicable). The application deadline is May 16, 2008.
