Employment : Sought
I have enjoyed life as an elementary school teacher, on and off, for 18 years in Canada. I have worked in municipal schools in Ontario, in an independant school off of the coast of British Columbia, and recently as a trained Waldorf grade one teacher in the Canadian Rockies. My husband and I are Canadian-born with Greek heritage and would like to live and work in a warmer climate, close to the ocean. We have worked for years in the B.C. environmental movement and are both avid organic gardeners. (My husband is a Chartered Herbalist and is soon to become a Registered Nutritional Constultant.)
I have a strong practice and interest in the work of Rudolf Steiner and the Anthroposophical movement. This past year I traveled to India to share Waldorf teaching and child care practices at two schools, and in an orphanage in the north. I have a devoted mediation practice and have written and produced a number of spirit-based children's plays. I have also trained in Marshall Rosenburg's Compassionate Communication Program.
My husband and I were not fortunate to have children of our own but we help to support two foster children.
I would like to be part of a joyful and health-conscious Waldorf school community with committed Anthroposophical development and some contemplative
perspective on the quickly changing needs of the world today.
With warmth in my heart I look forward to finding my new home and the group of young ones that I am to teach.
