School Director

Bright Water School, a Waldorf school in Seattle, seeks a School Director to oversee the administration of the school and to provide executive leadership in its programmatic and organizational development. The Director works collaboratively with faculty, staff and volunteers throughout the school and reports to the Board of Trustees.

The Director is responsible for the organization’s compliance with stated policies and goals in the following areas:

* Operational management;

* Treatment of students and families;

* Treatment of employees;

* Marketing, enrollment and community relations;

* Development and fund-raising;

* Financial management, including long-term planning;

* Evaluation of educational programs in concert with pedagogical development chair;

* Volunteer relations; and

* Legal affairs.

Requirements:

* Experience in Waldorf Education;

* Experience in school administration;

* Minimum of a four-year college degree;

* Proven record of financial management; and

* Superior written and oral communication skills.

Bright Water School, founded in 1998, has an enrollment of 220 in Preschool through Grade 8 and a thriving parent-toddler program. In addition to core academics, Bright Water offers programs in Japanese, Spanish, woodworking, handwork, art, music, Eurythmy, games and movement, and after-school sports.
