AURORA WALDORF SCHOOL
Founded in 1991. Complete Toddler through 8th Grade program, including Eurythmy, Spacial Dynamics/Gymnastics an average of 4 days a week, Woodwork, Handwork, Clay, German, General Music, Chorus, Band & Orchestra. Also, individual support through Extra Lesson, Therapeutic Eurythmy, and Remedial Reading and Math. A core of teachers who have been with the school since its beginnings and are now on their second cycles. High School founding group under way. Located amid rolling hills about a half hour south of Buffalo, NY, in our spacious 1960’s era former public school building with large sunlit classrooms and full-sized gym and auditorium. Immediate surroundings are 28 acres of woods and open fields, with hiking trails that overlook a gorge and slate-bottom creek. Ski hills 10 minutes away; Toronto two hours away. Western New York, with a population of 1.3 million, is home to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, State University of New York at Buffalo, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, a wealth of historic architecture, a cost of living that is well below average and (we think) above average scenery, climate and quality of living. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Erie, about 320 miles/500 km from New York City.
