SOMERSET SCHOOL is a public benefit corporation offering teacher and faculty training, parent consultation, and publications in the fields of curative and therapeutic education, curriculum design, and special education school administration. Sunny Baldwin has pioneered curative education in Waldorf Schools for over 35 years. A team experienced in classroom teaching, therapeutic movement, child assessment, and school administration supports her. To assist schools, teachers, and parents in preparing each student to function independently, take initiative, be socially responsible, and reach the highest level of his or her ability in school and adult life. Through publications, teacher training, and consultation we strive to assist schools, teachers, and parents learn innovative ways of sustain ably helping highly individual children succeed in life. |
At the end of the school year in 2006, Sunny and Charles retired from daily school management to make time, with collegues, to write and publish materials based on the "Somerset experience." Somerset School now supports publication, teacher training, and parent mentoring. Daily teaching and summer camp activities have shifted to our affiliates. Somerset School remains a non-profit, tax-exempt educational organization. It is supported by commissions, gifts, and grants.
